Hack a Server – Guidelines and Rules

Being in our way to Public Beta you know that there are some hardware and software limitations and for that I want you to share some guidelines and rules in order to make HaS go smooth.

Before to start with Guidelines and Rules, I want you to remember that we have a Feedback Button on our platform. Don’t be shy to use it if you have something to tell us about.

Guidelines:

For PenTesters

If you want to be a PenTester and earn money for your work, then you should get your HaS Certificate from our ExamArena. Also you can train in Training Arena where all the servers that appears there are build by users.

As a PenTester would be helpful for us if you just conduct penetration tests and not built a server because of our hardware and software limitation. you should let those Sys Admins and Web Apps Developers to build their systems.

For Sys Admins, Web Apps Devs, CTOs

As a system builder you should try to built a fully functional system in order to get full experience about how Hack a Server Platform can help you and your company with your work.

Built your server, install your modules like WordPress, data base, web applications, whatever and please deploy it in Training Arena. This way you will experience with our system and PenTesters.

If you built a system and you don’t deploy it into Training Arena won’t help anybody by contrary, you will block others to built their systems and get full experience by using our resources which are free for you but not for us.

For example at this time when I wrote update this article, July 27 2012 August 03 2012, there are over 180 228 servers built (targets) and only 26 37 deployed into Training Arena. That means a lot of our resources are wasted.

Rules for everybody:

We all love freedom and hate rules. We try to make as few as possible and those are for now:

1. Please try not to “Shot the Pianist”. Attacking HaS platform does not help anyone. The contrary, by attacking our platform will hurt all users. We don’t keep any sensitive data on our platform to look for and we encourage all the users, you included, to preserve their anonymity.
2. If you build a server/system please try to finish it and deploy it within one of our arenas (Training Arena or Playground Arena).
3. In case you build a system and for some reasons is not deployed within one of our arena, after a while the HaS Platform, automatically will delete it. The reason is to make more room for other users who find interesting the platform
4. Don’t try to conduct underground activities with your system from our platform (e.g. using our platform to spam others, attack other servers on the internet and so on). We don’t care who you are, but we do care what you are doing in our home (Has Platform). Please remember that you are our guest and please behave proper.
5. We reserve the right to delete your account if we consider that you violated one of our rules.
